Roughly 12 months ago VMware completed the purchase of Salt, a configuration management platform, based on open source tech. Since then, VMware have been integrating it into its vRA (vRealize Automation Platform), and you can now manage your infrastructure from the cloud. Lets see how we get on…
Continue readingLiterally the quickest post I’m ever going to make. But as a customer, this is something I didn’t know about as a customer, and its something I really wish I did. So why do you care? Cause its free access to the VMware products and services to play around with in your own time!
Continue readingSo VMworld 2021 has come and gone, but with it came a whole host of awesome announcements, new products and new features galore. Given the huge number of sessions, and that we don’t have all day and night to tune in, I thought I’d put up a blog post with a few highlights that I hope will be of use as a one-stop-shop!
Continue readingSo, my favourite event of the year is nearly upon us again (Sounds biased but I loved it even before I joined VMware). Again, its online, and although I miss the face-to-face side of things, registration is free so there are no cost barriers to attending, which is a great thing.

This is just a few of my thoughts as to why, from a customer perspective, I find this pretty useful.
Continue readingSince its inception in 2012, the Raspberry Pi has been in the arsenal of many a developer, enthusiast and even school curriculums – but I for one have never seen it as anything more – something to play around at home with. But have VMware with their ESXi on ARM fling, opened the doors to any number of commericial applications?
Continue readingMost people who know me well know that I love new technology, whether it be personal, or enterprise grade. One thing I love equally as much though, is a good demonstration, or ‘announcement’ – and this is why I love VMworld. Its an event that is full of tech, new announcements on tech that generally I love. Sadly this year its virtual, which is bad because I love Barcelona, but my liver will thank me long term I’m sure. Here’s a few things I’ve been most excited about.
Continue readingSo given I’m enjoying my work using Workspace One at the moment, I thought it be as well that I note down some of the processes that I’ve followed in preparation for factory provisioning of devices from Dell. This has been a pretty simple process, but its always good to write this stuff down – so here goes…
